ABSTRACT: Innovations in Assessing Creativity and Innovation in Vocational Settings explores novel approaches to evaluating and promoting creativity and innovation among vocational students. This study investigates innovative assessment methods and educational strategies that nurture creative thinking and entrepreneurial skills in vocational education. The objectives were: to analyze current practices and challenges in assessing creativity and innovation in vocational programs, to explore effective assessment tools and methodologies, and to propose recommendations for integrating creative assessment practices into vocational curricula. A survey design was employed to collect comprehensive data from vocational educators, students, and innovation experts, providing insights into assessment practices and their impact on student creativity. A sample size of 250 respondents was selected using a purposive sampling technique to include participants with experience in assessing and promoting creativity in vocational education. The case study focused on the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Kwara State. Findings indicated diverse approaches to assessing creativity and innovation, with challenges in aligning assessment methods with vocational learning outcomes. It was recommended that vocational institutions should incorporate project portfolios, peer assessments, and real-world challenges into assessment frameworks, provide training for educators on creative assessment strategies, and foster a supportive environment that encourages risk-taking and experimentation among students.
